$244,800 in Grants From the Community Response Fund

WAUSAU, WI-  The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin and United Way of Marathon County continue to address the needs of local nonprofits through the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. As of April 30, 2020, $244,800.00 has been invested directly back to the area.  With the Community Foundation covering all administrative fees, 100% of your donation is being invested directly back into the community.

Community support, generous people, businesses, and organizations have allowed the two organizations to provide flexible funding for organizations who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak. It is this support that has allowed for thirty-three grants to be funded including in areas of childcare, food security & basic needs, shelter/rent & utility assistance, legal assistance, access to medical care, and education/youth services.

Amy Faust, Director of NCECC – St. Therese and a Community Response Fund grant recipient knows first-hand the effects the pandemic is having on our area through meeting essential needs during this time. She says, “Thank you so much for this grant! It has been one of the bright sports during this scary, crazy time. As a director, being able to pay my staff and get our basic supplies taken care of has weighed heavily on me. This grant will help. Thank you!”

The fund has raised over $338,476.00. To view a complete list of donors please go to: https://www.unitedwaymc.org/community-response-fund/
