No. While our priority is to uplift women and girls, the Fund will not automatically exclude programs that also benefit vulnerable men—such as fathers or male survivors of violence—especially when aligned with family stability and community well-being.

The fund opened in 2025 along with interpersonal fundraising efforts. The goal is to award the first grants from the Women’s Fund for Marathon County in 2026.

Certified 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Marathon County are eligible to apply for a grant.

The Women’s Fund Distribution Committee will consist of a diverse group of individuals from our community. The Committee will review the grant applications and work together to select projects with the maximum impact.

The following areas will prioritize grantmaking: economic security, financial empowerment and entrepreneurship, support for mothers and caregivers, mentorship and leadership development, and response to emerging needs.

The Women’s Fund is equipped to accept a variety of complex charitable gifts, including appreciated stock, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRAs, and legacy gifts through your estate plans. These options provide meaningful ways to support women and girls in our community while also offering potential tax advantages for you and your family. Grants can also be made with your donor-advised fund.  Your generosity will help create lasting change in our community!
