“Community Partners Campus will have 8-12 nonprofits using the space. The idea behind it is that each agency has its own space, as well as some shared space,” Logemann continued. “We will have community rooms, shared offices, even a kitchen/café space. Areas people can eat together, make connections, and socialize.” With an eye on efficiency, the Campus will host such agencies as The Neighbors’ Place, Catholic Charities, and the Wausau Free Clinic, to name a few.

Logemann, former board chair at the Community Foundation, appreciates the support received from the Foundation. “We received a $100,000 Community Enhancement Grant toward our capital campaign, but they went beyond that,” she said. “They have taken a leadership role by introducing this project to their audience, and that has been so valuable. Thanks to the support of the Community Foundation, Community Partners Campus has received contributions and assistance from local government, corporations, and individuals who see the value of creating this very important nonprofit collaborative.” To date, various Donor Advised Funds from the Community Foundation have given more than 600,000 to the project.

Accessibility will be vital in connecting agencies to their clients. “364 Grand Avenue is close to downtown and on a bus line, which is key,” said Logemann. “This makes it quite accessible.” According to Logemann, many of the agencies at the Campus will serve the same people. “Some of them may come in for housing assistance but then realize that The Neighbors’ Place is there to assist individuals and families in need of food. It’s going to be great for the clientele because they can go to one place and receive various services.”

Once built, the Campus will be a crucial connector between agencies and the community. “We are focusing on human services and meeting client needs with an emphasis on food, shelter, clothing, medical, mental health, and social well-being,” Logemann concluded.
