$13,000 Donated From Peoples State Bank to COVID-19 Community Response Fund
WAUSAU, WI- The COVID-19 Community Response Fund initiated by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin and United Way of Marathon County has experienced an outpouring of support since its inception in late March and is proud to announce an additional gift received today of $13,000 from Peoples State Bank.
More than 75% of Peoples State Bank’s employees donated an hour or more of their pay to contribute to the total donation to the Fund, along with a match from Peoples State Bank.
“Peoples’ employees have generous hearts,” said Scott Cattanach, Peoples’ president and CEO. “Each day our staff works to serve others with banking services and it’s heart-warming to see them also reach out to give an hour of pay—and in some cases more—to help community members impacted by COVID-19.”
Because of people who care deeply about this community, the COVID-19 Community Response Fund mobilized quickly. The Fund has received more than $480,000 in donations and granted $389,783 to local nonprofits; providing support for those most vulnerable in this difficult time. The Community Foundation and United Way fully recognize the impact COVID-19 will have over the course of time. Together, the two organizations will continue to monitor the needs of the community, provide a strong vetted grant process that’s supportive yet adaptable to nonprofit organizations, and invest the communities generosity where it will make a real difference in the lives of others.
