Impact Grants Update
November 24, 2025
Strong communities are built through collaboration, vision, and a shared belief in what’s possible. The Community Impact Grants highlight that momentum by investing $158,500 this quarter in local organizations that bring innovation, compassion, and opportunity to life.
This quarter’s recipients are creating accessible parks, expanding youth and family supports, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening our regional workforce. With the help of donor support, these projects will spark connections, enhance the quality of life, and enrich the places we call home.
Your generosity made the following grants possible.

Health and Human Services – $106,000
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin | $20,000 for Mentoring through Budget Shortfalls
Funding will sustain essential youth mentoring programs following major losses in long-term and federal support. BBBSNCW serves over 400 at-risk children each year through community-based, school-based, and specialized programs like Bigs with Badges, supported by its inclusive mentoring hub, The Nest. Continued funding will keep these services in place, helping youth build resilience and confidence while strengthening families and the community.
Northern Valley Industries, Inc. | $50,000 for Building for the Next 60 Years
Northern Valley Industries provides jobs and support to 150 people facing barriers such as homelessness, disabilities, and incarceration histories. To continue its manufacturing and workforce mission, NVI is launching a campaign to replace failing building systems, including the roof, HVAC, windows, flooring, parking lot, and safety features. This investment preserves a key workforce pipeline and expands second-chance employment.
Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin | $4,000 for Empowering through Equine Therapy
DSAW–Central WI is partnering with Stable Hands to offer quarterly equine therapy that builds strength, communication, confidence, and independence for individuals with Down syndrome. Families gain community support while participants benefit from no-cost, high-quality therapeutic services that meet a clear local need and improve overall well-being.
Immigrant Hope-Forest Lakes | $10,000 for Immigration Legal Services Capacity Building
This project expands an affordable legal services program for low-income immigrants and refugees. Added staffing, translation support, and updated technology will increase capacity, reduce wait times, and ensure timely, high-quality assistance that protects safety, stability, and family unity. The investment helps families secure lawful status and build stronger futures.
North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board | $10,000 for LifeWork$
LifeWork$ provides high school students with disabilities with work readiness skills, paid experience, and confidence for independence. Relaunching in Marathon County, the two-week course and individualized paid placements will serve up to 12 students in partnership with schools, employers, and agencies. The program builds workforce skills and strengthens community inclusion.
DC Everest Area Youth Baseball | $10,000 for the Kennedy Park Renovation
This campaign will transform a 60-year-old park into a tournament-ready regional sports complex. The $14.5 million project adds five turf ballfields with lighting, an expanded skatepark, a new outdoor hockey rink, improved concessions, ADA paths, playgrounds, and more parking. These upgrades will boost tournament capacity, drive tourism, and create a year-round destination for athletes and families in Central Wisconsin.
Pommerscher Verein Central Wisconsin Inc. | $2,000 for the Communicate and Connect Project
The Pommerscher Verein Central Wisconsin preserves the rare Ost Pommersch dialect and regional Pomeranian heritage. To strengthen its cultural and educational role, the group is upgrading communications tools, launching an accessible website, and improving internet for its museum and library. These updates expand programming, increase outreach, and help protect a fading heritage.

Arts – $17,500
Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum | $5,000 for Preserved for All to See
The Woodson Art Museum plans a 3,600-square-foot addition to expand art storage, improve staff workspace, and create visible-storage galleries that give visitors greater access to its permanent collection. The project meets critical needs from growing collections and a full staff while enhancing the visitor experience with more exhibition space and modern, accessible facilities. The addition will strengthen stewardship, support future growth, and elevate visual arts engagement across north central Wisconsin.
Rise Up Central Wisconsin, Inc | $12,500 for their Community Art Studio
Rise Up Central Wisconsin seeks support to sustain its Community Art Studio, an inclusive downtown space offering free arts programs, community mural projects, and access to social supports. Through participatory artmaking, classes, and paint days, the studio fosters healing, reduces stigma, and strengthens connections for people facing trauma or isolation. Ongoing investment will expand creative opportunities, build community resilience, and deepen the impact of public art across the region.
Resource Preservation – $35,000
Friends of Rib Mountain State Park | $10,000 for the Hiking Trail Sustainability Project
Rib Mountain State Park is advancing a 2022 master plan priority by creating a comprehensive hiking trail sustainability and redesign plan to improve recreation and protect natural resources. The project will map better routes, identify repairs, and integrate safety upgrades where hiking and new biking trails intersect, resulting in safer, more accessible, and more sustainable paths. When completed in early 2026, the plan will guide phased construction and fundraising with the DNR, Friends of Rib Mountain, and community partners.
Greater Wausau Prosperity Partnership | $10,000 for their Destination Marketing Campaign
The Greater Wausau Prosperity Partnership and Visit Wausau are launching a destination marketing campaign to position the region as a Midwest leader in outdoor recreation and economic growth. Featuring Ride Wisconsin Gravel and Two National Trails. One Basecamp., the campaign will showcase 900+ miles of gravel routes and two national trails to attract visitors, talent, and investment. Promoting these assets from March–September 2026 will boost tourism, grow the economy, and strengthen long-term community vitality.
Town of Ringle | $15,000 for the Ringle Town Hall Park
This project will create the community’s first fully accessible outdoor gathering space for families, residents, and trail users to play, socialize, and enjoy nature. After adding a shelter, seating, signage, and a walking trail, the next phase will install an inclusive playground and later add restrooms, an updated veterans memorial, and recreation areas. As a future Mountain Bay Trail trailhead, the park will become a vibrant destination that supports outdoor recreation, community connection, and healthy activity for all ages.
