Wausau Marathon County Impact Grants support nearly every area of life for people of all ages throughout Marathon County, including the arts, education, health and human services, and resource preservation. With guidance from the Distributions Committee and our Board of Directors, 2023 was another great year of grant-making, made possible by the generosity of our donors.

Donors, thank you for believing in a brighter future for our amazing community. Thank you for trusting us with your financial resources. The needs in our area are being alleviated because of your generosity. And more people are getting opportunities to grow and experience the blessings of a life full of color!

We are excited about the grants we made in this last grant cycle. From supporting the development of the Forensic Science Center, which will relieve our justice system and give educational opportunities to local students, to giving a grant to the Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation to help bring a clinic to our community, which will provide more mental health resources to our community, the generosity of our donors is being deployed for so much good.

Rogers Behavior Health Foundation | $50,000 to support the startup of a local health clinic

Wausau Police Department | $3,200 for a school resource therapy dog

Marathon County | $101,100 for the Regional Forensic Science Center

CASA | $15,000 for their expansion

Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area | $1,500 for an interactive display board

Stable Hands, Inc. | $25,000 for their “Building a Stable Future” capital campaign

West Elm Inn | $10,000 for outdoor experiences and mobility for all

Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes | $5,000 to initiate the Adventures of the Go program

Healthfirst Network | $100,000 for mental health clinic

Village of Spencer | $15,000 for pickleball courts

Wausau Nordic Ski Club | $11,000 for ski outreach expansion

Central Wisconsin Water Ski Show Team | $10,000 for equipment trailer upgrade

Extra Innings Nonprofit Corporation | $1,000 for Celebration of Life

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin | $30,000 for furnishing the new mentoring center

Community Partners Campus | $22,000 for solar energy addition to facility

Keep Area Teens Safe | $5,000 for retaining wall reconstruction

Robert W. Monk Gardens | $25,000 toward Phase I of the planned Garden enhancements

Wausau Elks Lodge #248 | $10,000 000 toward the Centennial Building Rehabilitation capital campaign

Wausome | $50,000 for community connection 3-year start-up funding

Progress Athens, Inc. | $25,000 for community hall renovations
