Helping Your Organization During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Marathon County nonprofits that are on the front lines of providing aid to our area’s most-vulnerable are hurting. Revenue streams from canceled fundraising events, classes, and program fees have suffered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this unprecedented time, the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin would like to share the resources below to help you with your current needs.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin has teamed up with United Way of Marathon County to create the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. This fund will bring essential resources and aid to our local nonprofits. This fund will provide flexible funding for organizations working in our community who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak. Working in partnership, this Fund is designed to expand local capacity to address the effects on individuals and families as a result of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.

 CARES Act and Nonprofits
Nonprofit Quarterly has provided an analysis of the provisions of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act for nonprofit organizations. They followed up their initial analysis with a more detailed look at the “fine print” to help organizations understand what help they may qualify for.

 The Chronicle of Philanthropy
The Chronicle of Philanthropy has put together a special report, “Help for Nonprofits During the Coronavirus and Uncertain Economic Times,” for nonprofit organizations with information to help nonprofits plan and prepare for the impact of the coronavirus on their operations.

 The Wisconsin Arts Board
The Wisconsin Arts Board’s COVID-19 and the arts in Wisconsin page contains resources for arts organizations, including information about their advocacy efforts.

The Community Foundation has realigned its Community Arts Grant funding for the 2020-21 program year to allow potential applicants to request funding for either regular programming as they have done in the past, or for COVID-19 relief.  Each organization can apply for one of the funding pools – not both. Choose the correct application from the online application menu.  Requests will be accepted up to $5,000.
